Fog lights on with high beams.

Locate the two relays under the hood. Note their orientation. Take them out, cut pin 85 off from relay #17. Leave just enough of the stump to solder a 26-22AWG wire to it. Solder the other end to the base of pin 86 on relay #11. Reinstall the relays under the hood, EXACTLY the way you found them.

Switch mod to fix the indicator lamp:

Remove the fog lamp switch and disassemble it. MOVE the lead of the indicator lamp from the bottom right to the upper right pin.

OR - remove both bulbs and replace with LEDs. The cathode (-) side of the LEDs go to the upper right pin. The resistors are ~670k, 1/4watt. Use whatever colors you want. Stock would be orange/red on the left and amber/yellow on the right.

Works from 97 to 03.

I followed this write-up from TACGP's big ol' FAQ collection, when I did mine a while back. Works fine.

I'm sure BnB's description is spot-on as well, though. I still need to get around to the LED mod, as my indicator has been out for years & my luck with junkyard replacements was bad.

i recently did this mod, is there anyway to keep the lows on too? i understand drls, lows and highs are operated off the same bulb so assume there isnt, or atleast not without burning up the bulb very quickly, just wondered.

Dubb, correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure all the bulb does is tilt (retracts, or moves in some way) so there'd be no way to keep both on at the same time since they're essentially the same light output.

The high/low in our car is a dual filament bulb. You should be able to wire some sort of jumper so low is on with the high beam. I did this in my 88 fiero at the column (stock wiring is only used as a trigger for seperate harness except the high beam shutter), which allowed the low beam to not cut out at all when highbeam came on (I installed hid headlights from a cadillac that are bi-xenon, which don't like power interruptions and are the high beam as well) I would like to do a similar setup in summer on the gtp, but for now I put a pair of blazer projector fog lights in with a hid kit, and the road is well lit (distance is lacking a little due to the fogs being so low).

My car acts weird, when I first crank it up if I turn my high beams on while my foglights are on, both high and fogs stay on! however, if I switch to low beams and switch to high beams again them my fogs lights turn off!! looks like if I want my fog lights and high beams on at the same time, I have to do it few seconds after I crank up my car, other wise if I do it later it won't work

Normally when you turn your brights on, the fogs will shut off. This lets them stay on when you turn on the brights. More lights = more light.

I'm a little confused as to what they're saying the fog light switch will do. If I understand correctly, they're saying the fog light switch will work correctly as usual but when you turn the brights on, the indicator turns off. With his "preferred method," does it work normally all the time, or is it making it so the indicator is always on?

Anyone wanna clarify that one for me?

The mod in the fuse block allows the fog lights to operate with the high beam on.

The mod at the switch allows the indicator to illustrate that the fogs are on when the high beams are on.

I have done the switch fix already, so it indicates fog are on with high beam althought they aren't.

Wait a minute, so you're saying the switch fix really doesn't work like it's supposed to? (The indicator is on even though the lights aren't on?)

The switch fix does what it is supposed to, you just need to do the ground fix at the fusebox for the fog relay trigger as well.

On mine, when my high beams and fog lights are on at the same time, my switch says my fog lights are off, but they actually on

Does this happen after doing the fog switch mod, or just after having jumped the relays?
