So I bought Aeroforce Scangauge for my '03 GTP to scan for KR and I only got one so I didn't want an HUD or pillar pod so I made one work in the left center vent.
I bought a second dash shroud from a scrap yard in case I messed up bad, I didn't want to be lost without one.
You will need a drill, a hack saw, a file, an extra piece of plastic, some plastic epoxy and paint if you want it (be sure to use paint designed for plastic).
I couldn't manage to find any solid plastic around the house so I ended going to Target and found a wall file box and hacked it up.
I pulled of the dash piece off and drilled off the plastic welding that holds the vents on.
Pulled the vent apart and cut the plastic close to size, then filed and test fitted it a thousand times.
When it fit, I then painted the plastic piece and put it in the vent with epoxy.
I let it dry, then put the shroud back on the dash and used epoxy where the plastic welds were.
Let it dry, then put your gauge in and put your car back together.
A pic without the flash:
The gauge ends up being a little recessed, I am not sure whether or not I like it, but it will do the job for now. I also didn't put anything in the vent to stop air flow, but I am likely going to go back and add some insulation.
