    The old stock pieces rusted.

It was a metal clamp inside a rubber piece.

Metal rusts out, boom, piece fails and you get water on your floorboard.

I didn't see anyone ask a question on this but I ran into the problem where the blower motor remains on after key off and I pulled the power wire running to it. I all ready have the solid state controller to replace and ordered the new piece to keep the water from going in the motor. Do I still need to install the capacitor since the water is no longer draining down into the motor? Thanks.

Picked up my part for a whopping $4.41 at the local GM dealer. Have the one piece cowl but didn't need to remove the wipers to cut off the excess plastic in the cowl.

Pretty sure it does considering I have an 05 and I ran into this same problem. They didn't start installing them until the 08 model years.

I RTV'd the weatherstrip back on and it that didn't work.

Picked up the part from Huber Chevrolet for 3.60.

That should do it. I had a one piece plastic shroud I guess you call it and I still didn't have much of an issue. I bent it towards the windshield best I could and broke off the plastic pieces so it didn't get in the way of my new water deflector.

    Should work great.

    10 minute job tops.

There are other reasons for water in the passenger floor board. One reason being hvac evap boot drain getting clogged. Mine was fine and I bought the deflector car still leaked. Then I took off the boot, and stuck my finger in the pipe where it drain out and it was clogged so problem fixed just letting you know if you didn't already address that.
There is no replacement for displacement........unless you have a supercharger or turbo

2000 Bright Red GTP Coupe GXP axle back, GMPP sway bar, NGK TR6, 180 stat. (Uninstalled Aeroforce Interceptor, DHP PCM, FWI, Gen V on the way) and still no pulley in sight.

Agreed. My latest is around the Bose door speaker enclosure and in through the door panel. No, I'm not lying.

I had to get mine a couple of weeks ago, and they had it in stock too. Paid $5.37 for it.
