    Boat you make any progress on this? I'm curious how the unlock/lock part would work with having an aftermarket alarm. I understand you can program an RF fob to unlock the car within "X" feet. Could it also be programmed to unarm the alarm at the same time?

    Freddy you could just reroute the starter wires from the lock cylinder to your button. Though I would recommend that you also run a NC relay to cut the accessory power while the starter is engaged because that's how the cylinder does it. Doing so makes sure the starter gets as much power as it can without the radio or anything else sucking up much-needed juice.

    NC = normally closed. Meaning when you apply current to the relay trigger it will open the load circuit (aka cut power). You just take the two wires that are hooked into the lock cylinder switch, cut them, and then just attach them to your pushbutton switch. If you choose to include the relay just put it inline with the button. Observe:

    [ Starter (+) ] -------> [ (+) Relay Trigger (-) ] -------> [ (+) Pushbutton (-) ] -------> [ Starter (-) ]

    And for the accessory part of the circuit:

    [ Accessory (+) ] -------> [ (+) Relay Load (-) ] -------> [ Accessory (-) ]

    Note: This is an extremely crude and hypothetical diagram to be used for descriptive purposes only. If you break your car, it's not my fault. Get the wiring diagram for the lock cylinder switch harness and take note of the correct wires.

    Also, you should probably at least get into some basic electrical circuitry stuff not related to the car before you just delve right into modding your electrical system. If you don't know what you're doing you could seriously **** some **** up, and even kill yourself. Jsyk.

    Actually you don't need a key. Just look for a bypass module for the passkey 3 module installed in 01-03 grand prix. I'm not sure what they use in the newer gp's though. After that you should be able to take the key out of the whole equation. I could be wrong though maybe there's another way around not having a key?

    Might be able to use some diodes or something :-\ I'd need to research the anti theft system a bit more because the bypass module will let you start a car without keys but I don't think it will let you drive away?? Although that could be a feature of some alarms and if you don't have an alarm you wouldn't have to worry. But that's a big maybe :-\

    Then there is nothing to stop someone from smashing your window and driving off with your car. Insurance doesn't cover that. Total loss.

    Its so easy to hack into a cars computer and lockup the brakes or open/close the throttle entirely.

    I did my PB statt according to Brian (BackInBlack).

    I still need the key, but use the button to start. I did it more of the "cool" factor.

    The only way to really have a true PB start is to have it like today's car where you need a transmitter to be in your pocket to start the car.

    is there a way to access the red and yellow wires to get a few pretty pictures. i want to do similar buttons, just in a different location and eliminate the key and have "easy" written on the button

    To anybody who's still interested in the Arduino solution, I'm finally beginning to work on mine lol. Just got my Uno today, and I have a Mega 2560 and some other goodies coming soon. I'll start my own thread though.
