Hi Guys, just thought I would do a quick write up on how I made my intake and mounted the pcm, I've seen a few different ways of keeping the pcm secure after removing the airbox but wanted to share how I decided to do it:

    1. A buddy of mine who has an S10 Xtreme noticed that the pcm for his 4.3 was the same size and shape as mine, but his is mounted with a bracket on the left side of the engine bay. We determined that it would be possible to mount this bracket on the inside of the fender of my car, so i ran to a junkyard and snatched one up for 5 bucks.

Next I laid the bracket in the fender and made a template of where to drill the mounting holes, shown here circled in red.

Then I just bolted the bracket to the fender using the screws that came with it out of the blazer I pulled it out off.

After that I just snapped the PCM in.

    The Intake:

For this I bought a 4" 45 degree mandrel bent piece of aluminum, along with the biggest intake cone I could find lol. I got both of these for $30 because I have a friend who works at an auto parts store. I also picked up a rubber coupling from menards for about $3.00 to mount the whole thing to the throttle body.

Next I acquired a piece of the stock corrugated intake tubing stuff for $free.99 and cut out the little rubber oval that holds the IAT sensor in. Then I drilled a hole in the aluminum and used an epoxy to mount the entire rubber piece to the aluminum tubing as seen in picture. After that it was a simple matter of pushing the IAT through and plugging it back in.

    Ends up looking like this:

Overall, I think it turned out pretty good, the PCM almost looks stock and the intake makes the supercharger ALOT louder haha. So far I haven't encountered any issues with this setup but let me know if you have any other suggestions! Thanks

LOL this is true but the extra 45 gives it a spot for IAT and looks a little less HOOD. I went open cone tho $20 bucks and done.

While I agree...it is a clean swap...and the Blazer/S10 PCM tray is a nice touch...I'm lazy...and didn't do anything with the PCM, along with just tossing the IAT into the filter then sliding it onto the TB...

Yup I just ziptied my PCM down and ziptied the IAT pretty much to the cone. I MAY go the S10 PCM tray route one day but Im happy where its at for now

Have you guys ever seen the PCM tray thing done before? When my friend suggested it I thought it seemed like a really unique idea

So does the PCM in the bumper. Gets rid of it all together and there's nothing bulky chilling in the engine bay.

Yes people have been doing it for years. Part numbers for the S10 PCM tray are floating around all the GP forums. Last I checked a few years ago you could pick them up for $10-$15 from the Gm dealer.

With the age of the car it's hard to come up with new ideas. Everything pretty much has been done. About the only recent(within 2+ years IIRC) new idea was hacking off the middle portion of the front bumper cover. This was done by Sal silver2kGTP(I believe that's his screen name). Which is awesome for airflow for the IC/FMHE guys. I have considered doing it, but haven't seen updates as to how the cover is holding up.

So Old post but when you say "into the filter" How exactly did you slide it onto the TB with the wires and what not? My question make sense?

Any idea what years those S10 trays are off of?

AND do they fit the 04+ PCM?

(Tried to search but S10 isn't a valid search word)

04+ PCMs are completely different that those PCMs. Get just yourself some self tapping screws and some rubber hose.

    And smile it's Blacktooth Grin!

Thanks, good to know. I noticed from google pics that my PCM looks way different so I had to ask. I'll just use an L bracket of some kind to mount it then.

    Rubber hose?

Rubber hose under the PCM tabs to act as a makeshift shock absorber. Cut like a 1/2" piece of garden hose, put a self tapper through the PCM tab holes, then through a piece of hose.

    And smile it's Blacktooth Grin!
