    are you modded?

If yes, 3.4 is a good start.

If its just bolt ons, start with the 3.8.

Since the gen v snout is shorter than a gen lll, is there an issue with the belt lining up straight?

The body of the charger is longer, therefore the snout is shorter. This makes the belt placement the same as a Gen 3
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

It is positive crankcase ventilation. Its purpose is to reduce emissions, and reduce sludge.

When the engine has high vacuum some air is routed through the crankcase and then sucked into the intake manifold. These air is metered (measured by the mass air flow) so that all air going into intake is accounted for an the proper fuel is delivered.

This helps reduce moisture from accumulating in the crankcase. It also keeps the engine from smoking a little bit like the pre PCV cars did.

Emmisions are reduced because that smoke or vapor has some hydrocarbons in it that is now sucked into the intake and burned.

im converting over to a gen 5 i just bought the blower yesterday, i have a few questions though i see in the thread it says you can just machine your gen 3 intake manifold i would rather do this to save money instead of buying a gen 5 intake manifold. but are the manifolds almost the same besides the air inlet area? so where the red arrow is i have to machine that to match the gasket right? and where the blue arrow is pointing it looks like on the gen 5 intake there was something else that goes there like a more elongated hole? and where the yellow circles are is that where the fuel rails bolt up? is it basically the same manifolds besides the air inlet? should i just machine mine i want to save money if i have the option.

I did this write up quite a few years ago when the Gen V and L32 manifolds were kinda hard to come by. These days, the cost of machining will probably be more than u would pay for an l32 manifold.

Note once machined bigger for gen 5 the air inlet is to big for gen 3 to seal. so it is not backwards compatible.
