    I would imagine this is the same for the 3100 series correct?

    Nooooooooo, totally different motor for starters. A 3100 is a 60 Degree V6 for one (a 3800 is a 90 Degree). The firing order on a 3100 is 1-2-3-4-5-6. Completely different motors......
