You will need a rachet with some long extensions and have the shifter in low

Undo the ruber hoses coming out from under the metal lines and coolant will come out, but not too much

Take the center console out, there will be bolts under it

Now take the top plate off, unscrew it from the shifter and under the radio then pull the whole console backwards and it will come out past the shifter.

Take the ugly carpet pieces near your feet off and undo all the gold srcews for the heater core cover. Removing the cover is the part that gave me the most trouble, I ended up cutting the duct that goes under the carpet and pulling like crazy to get it out (hint: take it out the drivers side)

You will see this after taking out both plastic pieces

Now pull it out by holding on to the top and bottom and reuse the clip at the back

    Reverse to put back together
Does removing the spare count as weight reduction?

Nice write up on removing the AC condenser. Did you actually continue on to the heater core?

Oops my bad. Used to be if it was aluminum it was AC. Glad it was the heater core as it looks like the evaperator would be a real job.

Isn't that the A/C condenser that you removed?

Thanks for the write up. I will use this as a loose guide to change the heater core in my 2006.
Wife: Your car feels just like mine.
Me thinking: You didn't step on the gas enough to feel the supercharger.

I can't really tell from the pictures.. but is the heater core in the center or toward the passenger side of the car? I have a leak coming from the passenger side.. I thought it was the heater core.. I had a nice puddle in front of my passenger seat and it turns out i'm low on coolant... it looked like just water but i think that's all that's in my radiator since i just bought this one...

Heater core is in the middle but what that could be is where water will leak in past a plastic shield thing. Just search about water on the floorboard and you will find it
