I've read over this thing several times and hear a few common problems. How do u stabilize the filter? Many have said the clamp will eventually get loose. And what schedule PVC should be used as it get very hot under the Hood? I dont want it warp or even worse melt.

I'm thinking I'm going to need to pick up a new piece of PVC though, I bought one like yours, 3" with the small OD on the one side, however it seems the wall thickness on mine is a little thinner - the heat from the engine and the forces from the clamp seem to have turned it into an egg shape and the clamp had loosened off a little bit. I wonder has anyone else suffered from this problem? My engine temperature floats around the 85-90*C mark (185-194*F), which seems normal to me - granted I'm also using the boost a lot (really enjoying the car, lol) so I'm sure the supercharger is packing a heck of a lot more heat under the hood as well.

    use silicone joiner then.

Also: if you have stock upper mounts, it'll move a lot, cause more elongating.

Flip the motor mounts? What does this accomplish. (Don want to get off topic, is there a thread with the answer/instructions? )

Just dont allow the motor to rock as much. Not as firm as polly mounts.. There might be a thread on it...

Flipping the mounts is a nice easy mod. I never knew how much the motor moved on stock mounts until I followed this write up to make my CAI.

On a 98 GTP do I need to run the IAT or can I just strap on a filter to the TB and leave the IAT uninstalled?

Be a boss... 4" aluminum 1/8" walled tubing... custom mount made from exhaust hanger. Something along the lines of this....

The top part (exhaust pipe side) makes a nice little holding stand. Bend the long side at a 90* angle and bolt into existing hole from stock box. Or drill your own. Get it where you need it one clamp on the cone to tubing, and another for holding onto the stand. Found out the hard way if you use one clamp to hold em all, it would separate the cone from the tubing.

    And smile it's Blacktooth Grin!
