    So in the interest of being a cheap bastard I'm wondering if there's a way to rig up a functional ram air hood at home instead of shelling out 6-800 bucks for a ready made one.

    Would this even be possible and if so what would be involved in it? If this is totally stupid sorry it's veryy late and I'm rather drunk lol.

    cut a hole and hit it with a hammer then weather strip around area and make a custom case for the air filter... thats the cheapest i can think off

    Possible purchase a set of those lund hood scoops cut holes, paint them clear cut and sum other stuff and I think you would be good to go
    There is no replacement for displacement........unless you have a supercharger or turbo

    2000 Bright Red GTP Coupe GXP axle back, GMPP sway bar, NGK TR6, 180 stat. (Uninstalled Aeroforce Interceptor, DHP PCM, FWI, Gen V on the way) and still no pulley in sight.

    Hmmm in a more sober state of mind this seems like one of those things that looks better on paper than in practice. But now I'm hooked, off to the junkyard for a hood. I'll post pics if this frankenstein-esque hood of mine turns into anything worthy.
