I'm almost regretting inventing this mod, as it MAY wreak havoc with your LED lamps (if you have them) and digital HVAC (if you have one). Otherwise, it worked just fine with bulbs and manual controls. If problems arise, you may have grounding issues elsewhere in the car, which would not normally arise if the rear lights were not modded.
kind of a neat mod
What kind of havoc are we talking about here? Especially on the climate control, as I would think most folks here have it!
Apparently, under unknown circumstances, the backlighting in the HVAC will change brightness with the turn signals. Nobody to date has taken the time to diagnose. I am unable to do it myself, as I have analog controls in all my cars.
when ur lights are on... they are alternating...
when ur lights are off... they both blink...
when u brake, they both light up, but do not alternate
im confused i dont understand what its supposed to do?
go outside and turn ur blinkers on, then turn your lights on..
now what the video... the small unused 194 bulb now blinks with the turn/brakes without lights on, and with lights on, it alternates with the turn signal
and why is that cool?
ooo i got it no im not knocking anything i was just wondering wtf its for ok i gotcha =]
i did exactly as you said and it didnt work for me...
would i be able to use this method for my 2005 GP? i want to have a use for my upper lights since they stay on and they act like the 194 bulb
