WOW!!! Just, just WOW!!!
Dave, would you have any problem with that being put up in the How To section and a downloadable document made of it?
Go right ahead Scotty! I also took a crapload of pics for those wanting to try their own gear ratio swap install
Holy Cow, I cant wait for that one.
I have to say and I think people should take note here. If you talk to many vendors (not specifically mentioning ones like ZZP, Wbody, ect.) but I mean like local vendors and repair shops, you'd be lucky if they would even point you into a starting point let alone them show you how to do something like this.
Yet, here is Dave, confident enough in himself and his business that he is willing to not only tell you, but document and take pictures for you to follow. So many think that they loose something giving of such information. Dave obviously gets it, at least in my opinion. When you teach, you dont loose anything, you give. You give of yourself and you strengthen your commitment.
When I see people give of themselves like this, it intensifies my desire to get the word out there about them. All I can say is thank you Dave for giving of yourself as you are to this community.
Scotty again I am more than glad to help. About 10 years ago I called a trans shop in California and all I wanted to do was order a few specialty parts. I ended up talking to the guy well over an hour and his knowledge steered me into directions I was never taught at tech school or at the trans shop I worked at. He just wanted to help out whether he got a sale or not. I still consider him to be one of the most knowledgeable trans builders out there for some rwd GM stuff, 700R4/4L60E builds to be specific though that was our original discussion. I have always been one to lend a hand and I really like how I was treated so offered to do the same for people ever since. I have NOTHING to hide, I will tell you exactly how I build all of my transmissions, where you do it right is up to you! Everyone has their tricks of the trade and real professionals in this industry help each other out, not hide in the back room with the lights off so nobody else knows what they are doing. If you really want an ear full call Trangso sometime, if you can get ahold of them! Those guys have a hell of a tech support but you damn better have answers to their questions or you are wasting everyones time.
I think that is what separates you from everyone else. You seem less interested in the sale and more so in making sure everyone has the right information. You dont hide anything, and thats what makes you such a breath of fresh air. My experience has been that people like you do more business rather than less. It is my hope and prayer that you continue to be successful beyond anything you can say or imagine.
I for one appreciate all the help you have given me. In my tranny build and in getting my step son involved I have tried to stress to him the importance of people such as yourself that are willing to help. Ive tried to make him understand that when you find people like you, you treat them right and with respect and do right by them because they are rare and have earned every bit of respect you can give them because of their willingness to help and give of themselves.
^X2!Youre good people Dave. Ive never had your help or advice because im too scared to do anything to my own tranny, its pissed off at me as it is, but ive seen and heard of you helping countless members all the time. Guys like you are an asset to the GP community and as far as im concerned you're the only truly knowledgeable and helpful guy out there that i would ever go to with questions about my 4t60e. And in the "world of cars" where all too often the concern is about money rather than helping one another, guys like you are an asset. Its nice to know that if you have a question about something there's a reliable source you can go to to get the right answers and not have to worry about people flaming you because you don't know as much as they do.....
link no longer works?? need to do this and a working link would be helpful
holy thread revival batman
Shift kit comes with instructions.
Nonetheless, none of the how-to links work and it should be addressed eventually.
But yes, it comes with instructions and it's quite simple. Check your PMs dazed
No they aren't. You put a plain spring and a white spring in the 1-2 side, a plan red and white in the 2-3 side. Just like the image shows. And there's only 4 bolts holding the accumulator in. And then you just grab the spring with a pair of pliars and out comes the pistons and such.
brandon, your so smart.
I don't have any write ups, those are others', but you're welcome. Hit me up if you need any more help.
