Lets wire an Aeroforce Reason I am doing this simple writeup is because of the frequency of questions that have been asked recently about how to wire one of these up. It is very simple, but here is how to do it, with pictures!

*note* I do not know specifically what year grand prixs need the power wire or not. Mine was a 2002 and it needed it. A guy I know has a 98 and it didnt need the power. Way to tell is plug the obd2 plug into the obd2 port, and turn the car on. It will power on. Turn the car off, take the key out, then put the key back in to restart the car. If the aeroforce will not display correctly, you need the power wire. It should be a blank screen and the red annunciator lights will come on.

Start by removing the jumper on the back of the gauge. It is a little red or black thing that looks like this:

Next, you will need these to things: a wire terminal/splice and 16 gauge wire. You can use a wire that is bigger than the wire going to the aeroforce but do not use anything smaller. 16-18 should be about right.

Now, feed the gray obd2 wire (feed it using the end that plugs into the gauge) from the floorboard, up through the side panel, and then finally up through the side of the dash where the gauge pod is. Feed this through the hole in the gauge pod where the gauge will sit and plug the wire into the gauge. (*Note: do not connect the obd2 plug yet)
Now, Take the red power wire that comes with the gauge and splice the exension wire to it. Run the wire through the hole of the gauge pod first and connect it to the gauge. Run the wire down to the floorboard instead of up like i did with the obd2.

*ignore the white wire, that is for my voltmeter gauge. See the red wire and the gray obd2 plug at the top of the picture.

*again, notice the gray obd2 and the red power

Run the power wire over towards the glovebox. You are aiming for the fusebox in the glove compartment. (never mind the white wire)

There should be some space under the glovebox, near the fuses where the wire can come up. Run the wire up and give yourself some working room to connect the wire to the Little Fuse Add-A-Circuit. These run about $8-10 at your autoparts store. I found mine at Autozone. Reason I use these as much as possible is it saves you the trouble of having to tap into factory ignition wires.

It is just like splicing any other wire with a terminal. Just put the wire in the terminal, and pinch closed. Take out your PGM, Mall PGM, or IGN fuse, and place that fuse into the Add-A-Circuit. (i used the PGM). Add another 10A fuse into the other slot on the Add-a Circuit. (you should have two fuses connected to it. Then plug the Add-a-Circuit back into the fuse block where you removed the fuse from.
(* I actually have both gauges wired this way for power, but i removed one in the picture. Aeroforce is in the PGM slot and my voltmeter is in the IGN slot)

Now, you may connect the obd2 plug.

    Start the car and enjoy!

There are directions that come with the aeroforce. Make sure you read those as well for proper startup and programming.

Has anyone hard wired this into the OBDII plug instead of just plugging it in or is that not possible?

I think you can buy the power adapter thing separate from the aeroforce sight. I also have the power issue but I also just unplug it and plug it back in until it works. Its annoying but oh well.

I just got mine today. It turns on and says 'annunciator not setup' then it turns back off. Its the correct model scan gauge PT401. Idk how to fix it the manual at aeroforce.com wasnt helpful about this issue.

The annunciator is just the warning lights. It will say that until you set them up, but wont cause it not to work. Is is hard wired and did you remove the jumper?

03 GTP...Its got pulleys and stuff.

Basically its downsized version of an obd2 hand held scanner..... Its a very very useful gauge and in my opinion is one of the best after market gauges you can have in your car.

    How does it not fit?

You take 1 one fuse out, stick it in its place and add it to the side and thats it.

green and white wires you wont do anything with.
