this is a how to, to see how to figure out if your catalaytic conveter is clogged,

1st, pull the o2 sensor the one on the rear exhaust manifold
2nd, then take it for a ride with it out
3rd, if you have your power back this is your problem, you need a cat
    4th,go get / buy a cat
5th just cuz it dont make any sounds wen you tap on the cat does not mean its good, and it will not be glowing red thats only if its not runnin rite dumping raw fuel in the converter

might be not be amussing but will help alot ppl out ive been doin it this way for over 12yrs now, im a ase certified mechanic, using a back pressure tester half of the tyme will not tell you if the cat is partially clogged. i hope this can help alota ppl out , pic below was my partially clogged cat would not excelerate and was bucking and had all cylinder missfires data codes p0300

could you clarify "3rd." You say "this is your problem" so which is, the cat or the O2 sensor?

The cat. The hole where the 02 sensor was lets the exhaust escape solving the too much back pressure problem.

this actually reminds of something that happened at work. One of our Trucks a (99 Dodge Ram 2500) would not start ... and somehow the shop manager at the time diagnosed it with a bad engine .... so they swapped the engine and guess what .. would not start with the new engine .... so now they were taking turns throwing mechanics on this truck to figure out what was going on with it and why it wouldn't start... so now it was my turn... go updated on what was already tried so i went to go pull the o2 sensor ... and the manager was *****ing about it ... :You don't need to do that, that won't do anything .... but I did it anyway and boom started right up ... lol

i have a problem with this.sorry, but if your cat is plugged, how would taking the 02 sensor out make any difference when the 02 sensor is behind the cat(on the exit side)
    on my car anyway(2000 gtp)
also i didnt know the motor would operate correctly with out the 02 sensor inplace, because it uses the sensor to see if it is running lean or rich
i dont know,so please dont take any offence(none intended)
so if im wrong plz correct me so i know

    thanx

becuse you have 2, o2 sensors did u read the very first one?? if u dont kno were the rear exhaust manifold is its below the rear valve cover by the fire wall

1st, pull the o2 sensor the one on the rear exhaust manifold

2nd, then take it for a ride with it out
3rd, if you have your power back this is your problem
    4th,go bet a cat
