I can't seem to fit a 4" fwi in my 97. Do 99+ not have this metal piece between the intake tube and the coolant bottle? (the thing the bottle is fastened to) (pic from tjvdubsport's post). I bought a newer coolant bottle that I may swap in, but that doesn't seem like it will help make any room fwi. Ideas?

Just ordered all of my stuff for my fwi! Im going to use Aluminum intercooler tubing, the silicone connectors, and a grommet to put the IAT sensor. This is going to be amazing!

Hey guys Nub here . . . picking up an 05 Comp G this weekend. Looking to do this mod as soon as I get home with the car. Where did you guys get the parts from? I know pvc should be easy to find but I'm curious where you got the elbows and roof flashings from. Any detail you 04 + guys could provide me as to sizes and filter choice would be much appreciated!!!

Elbows you will normally find at the autoparts store (autozone, etc), the roof flashing will be hardware store ( lowes, etc).

As for building it I have a 04 grand prix and all I did was use the 3" PVC and the spectra filter that was on a previous topic - I didnt need to cut the brace and it took me 15 minutes. For full instructions they have a how to process at the beginning and I learn the process of the FWI by just reading the thread from top to bottem.

On my 04 i wanted to stay true and do an actual 4" fwi... to have a true 4" it takes a bit of time and finagaling... u can pick up either a 3 or 7" cone and as for elbows you WILL NOT find a flexible 4" elbow unless ordered off of the interent... i used 2 or 3 hard 4" 45 degree elbows and the roof flashing you can get from any hardware store... the hard part of a true 4" on an 04+ is the MAF... the way i did it was to use some sort of rubber extension and use it to attach the maf and intake manifold... then use a 3 to 4" rubber converter piece and run your 4" pvc off of that... makes a hell of a roar... good luck... might get picks up for thos interested in a true 04+ 4" fwi

Throttle response is a little better. Can't comment on the mileage, I drive in the city and mostly short distances or get stuck in traffic so I don't get any if I try (19 mpg on a good week, 15 on a bad one) Still can get 28 on the highways though.

You can hear the sucking sound of air when the throttle body opens up. Also you get a nice sucking sound when the car's cold. When it warms up it does go away though.

ok so your directions are kinda ****ed... the 4" to 3" coupler doesnt fit my tb if thats where its supposed to go. the 3" side is to big. and yes its a stock tb on a gtp. also how the hell am i supposed to get the 4" pvc into the 4" cut in half elbow? they are both the same exact size and not wanting to stretch to fit in lol.

What are doing with the CPU? I meen air flow wise. It looks like you just left it sit were the old air box went? The CPU does need air flow over it to keep it cool, thats why its in the air box to start with.

I guess i missed something, but what kind of milage and performance gains can you expect from a series II N/A

furthermore what can you expect from tuning the computer with the FWI?

Can't seem to find the 4" 90* rubber bend. Can you use a 45* pvc bend instead?

Or does anyone know where they sell the 4" rubber bends?
