I installed a functional Ram air hood and it rode home fine (about 40 miles), washed the engine (I've done this many times before on various cars so I know how to do it) started it up just fine put in the garage, on Thursday, Today Saturday started up fine after about 4 miles it gave a little buck at about 55 mph went a mile stalled on a curve getting on highway, started it back up had to really rev it up got on highway ran fine for about 4 miles bucked a bit at 70, the noticed whenever I let off the throttle at high speed (70-80) it bucks and almost stalls, after 16 miles bucking gets bad (can't always do 80) I get off the highway and it stalls at the light starts right up but I have to rev it to keep from stalling. After about 10 miles it stall 3 times (one time I kept getting a click like a bad battery but battery is two months old) get it going goes about a mile stalls restarts abs light comes on and stays on I get it home and it stall restart it ABS light comes on for about a minute and goes out. In park it runs fine until about 3800 rpms (then seems to have putter and will not go over 3800). I have a 600 mile trip coming up in 10 days and need to get this fixed. 1997 Grand Prix GT 3800 v-6 naturally aspirated only mod ram air and K&N cone. 298,000 miles on it new halfshafts and seal put in about 3,000 miles ago. M.A.F. and new plugs (Iridium NGK plugs) and 8 mm wires, new msd coil packs, new fuel pump and filter all replaced a bout a year ago about 10,000 miles on them Help guys please Oil, trans and coolant are fine Thanks

it not going 3800 rpms in park is the rev limiter.

as for it stalling, did the tach ever drop to zero right befor it killed??

ahh thank you would that explain why it seemed to be stalled (I mean gas pedal had no affect on it) yet when I tried to restart it, it gave that sound like when you try to start a running car like the started grinding? Sort of like it seemed stalled but it was not

OK new development Saturday night car seems to run fine got it up to 85 and all speeds in between drove it about 15 miles, dropped it at the shop told him the problem, he just called said he took a compressor blew it all dry took apart the connecters to the computer and blew them. Put a scanner on it it threw an O2 sensor code but that's not going to cause a problem like that, so he took it for a ride said he drove it on the highway side streets and all over and could not get it to mess up it rode fine. Didn't charge me anything and said all he can say is it looks fine if is screws up again bring it in. I mean I am glad it is fine but am worried it could do this when I am far from home any suggestions or just say thanks god and leave it go.
