Hey guys,
My 01 GP SE with 62,000 miles has slowly lost power over time. For example at take off I can push the pedal down half way and it basically acts like I'm hardly pushing it. It just feels like it chugs up to 2,000 RPM, but once you get over that it feels completely normal. It doesn't sputter or slip, it's smooth acceleration.
The power loss is evident on take off and on the highway no matter the gear. It literally feels like it has no balls anymore, but it has never tossed a code.
Everything that you would normally replace on a vehicle as routine maintenance like fluids, filters, wires, plugs have been done within the last 30,000 miles. I've also already done heads and intakes. I am the only one who has done any level of maintenance to the vehicle except for the basic oil and tire stuff. I got the car at 34k from my grandpa who took worked for GM so he took care of it.
I'm not going to be able to tackle the full tune up until September, so I'm hoping you all might have some advice on where to look.
My thoughts are:
1) Just needs a tune up. I put coppers in which were for 20k, yeah yeah I know, I don't have a garage anymore so it'll have to wait.
2) Fuel pump dying or fuel restriction, same as 1.
3) Clogged cat
4) Transmission taking a crap
