I need to know the size socket to get the tensioner off, not the pulley. It looks like tiny star style bolt.

its a stud with an inverterd torx end....with a 13mm hex nut threaded onto it to hold it on the engine.

you just need a deep 13mm socket and DO NOT LOSE THE NUT.

you wont find another one, it is a special undersized hex nut for the large 10mm threads

lots of guys seem to have trouble finding a socket that will fit into the tensioner. i use a 12 pt deep kobalt socket. fits perfectly.

its a sweet virgin bore "511" 4 bolt main 400 i picked up...and a vintage Martin Turbo systems draw trhough carb turbocharger setup (vintage rayjay aircraft turbo) that i demoded off a 79 corvette...fits under the stock hood, not many kits were made for the vette/Fbodies...far more kits still remain of the truck/RV kit thats much taller and wont fit the cars.

i have a th400 and dana 20 tcase from a 72 commando and 75 cj5 narrow track axles (D44/D30 6 bolt hubs, 3.73) that i was gonna build into a hillbilly 4wd jeep/indycar...change the angle of the 4 corner quarter elliptical springs and toss on 33" tires and take it offroading after a day of racing...

Sounds like a fun set up.

I just got through with a lq4 swap into my A-body cutlass. I'm done with this grand prix come spring time, either going to DD the olds or buy a new honda accord. Tired of sinkin cash into this lemon. It's a shame because I love the way it rides, looks, and the heads up display is great.
