So I need a flex pipe and I have a set of headers(not sure what kind) and the local muffler shop I need a new flex pipe which I already knew. They basically told me I need a new complete header because the flex pipe that's on it is a really big flex pipe. Is that true that I need to get new headers or is there a replacement that anyone knows?

I'm sure I can't be the only person who needs a new flex pipe and had after market headers.

    What kind of headers?

It's probably the standard 3"x6" ones ZZP sells them or eBay.. Get a double walled one. If the shop is a ok shop they can easily weld in a smaller one and make up the difference with piping. Sounds like they're being lazy or don't want to take on the work.

If they're Speed Daddy headers, it's worth to replace the one they come with anyway because they tend to leak after a while.

If the shop knows what they're doing, they should be able to cut out the old flex and weld in a new one that you provide, it's an easy job.

And just my 2ยข, if I were you I'd have the shop weld in that new flex and whatever else you want them to do, and then install it myself. You'll save a bunch of money on labor, and there's a good writeup on here by BillBoost that makes the job doable for anyone with basic hand tools, maybe a swivel or two.
