I have an appointment with intense this weds to get some work done. I was wondering, John stated that he could bench tune my car and get pretty close to what the dyno could while they have it hooked up. Is the bench tune pretty good? There is a cost savings over the dyno/tune, just wondering.

9/10 times a stock tune is good enough for everyone, so a bench tune is usually stellar.

I think by stock tune he meant a "one size fits all tune". I would tend to agree that just a basic "not stock" tune is plenty for most people. When you get into the sub 3.0 range is when stuff starts to get interisting

Do whatever intense thinks is best. They know their stuff, and wouldn't screw a customer over.

I guess i worded my sentence a little funny. I have the money to dyno and tune it, or just have him bench tune it. I could care less about the hp an tq numbers. I just want the best tune for the track. With my cam and other supporting mods, I will end up with a 3.0-3.2 pulley, depending on kr. If the dyno only eeks out a hair more hp and tq, and the way I'm being told that a bench tune ca get 95 % of what a dyno does, then I'm good with a bench tune, but if it cannot, looks alike a dyno.
