My wife was driving home in it today and was on an on-ramp going excellerating when the RPMs dropped to zero and the car coasted to a stop. She said she put it in park, waited awhile and put it in drive and nothing still. RPMs would not move when given throttle. She then turned the car off and re-started it and still nothing. She then sat with it idling for 5 minutes then shut it off again and re-started it. This time when she gave it gas it went, and she drove the rest of the 15ish miles home problem free.
Any ideas? It did this ONE time last winter, where basically the exact same thing happened. That time when she got home I dumped a bottle of seafoam in the gas and it never did it again (unsure if anything to do with seafoam.)
Could it be bad gas? Or doesn't that make sense?
Should point out that it is about -10 Fahrenheit degrees here right now.
The car has 145k miles and has been 100% trouble free other then the two times this has happened.
Thanks a lot for any thoughts and advice
