Thread: '05 Prix Heat Problems

Ok so just bought my car 3 months ago... it only has 35,000 miles... so I'm a little irritated to be fixing it already lol but it is what it is....

Anyway.... my car seems to have this issue where the heat will be working then all of a sudden the air will start to get cold.... and the temperature guage starts rising..... it goes up for awhile and then it starts going back down.. and starts blowing warm air again. Works for awhile.... then does it again. Some days it seems to run in a cycle and some days it does this a couple times and then stops.

I just had it to a mechanic today and my fluid levels are correct and there is nothing wrong with the thermostat. I am going to have to take it back but I was wondering if anyone has any ideas before I do so? I just paid to have one part fixed today; I really don't want to have to pay again for another estimate, have something fixed, and find out that it wasn't it....

Maybe it has air in the system? I know that the old cars ,like in 70s and 80s you could get air in them and do the same thing yours is. It is just a thought.............Scott

When you say heat, you mean the interior cabin heat right? And when that turns cold, you see the coolant temp gauge on the dash go up, correct?

Exactly. Sorry I should have been a little more specific.
