I can check compression though

You can get a bypass pully off ebay for 40 bucks. And you can get a new clutch-bearing for the same. A small puller isall you need. If you decide to change the entire compressor you will need to change the expansion valve and dryer as well. Ck the new compressor to see if it already has oil in it, some do., ifso don't add any.If you have access to a vacuum pump you can do the whole thing yourself. I changed compressor on my Freight Liner.
I can't see to much up around the flex but it def. Isnt moving when you try to tighten the bolt. Not looking to good. Still haven't checked compression and prolly won't tonight but ill do it tomorrow. The mechanic who installed the engine is also coming over tomorrow. He wants to here it try to start cuz he doesn't believe that the hb could be moving and the flex isn't
Well mechanic came over today and said seems like a broken crank to him too so I'm getting another engine and he's doing the work all for free. Thank god for warranty lol. Ill have to go a couple more weeks without the gtp but feels good to know everything is covered.
I just need to hit the jy for another egr tube cuz I deleted mine and don't want that to void warranty
I've never heard of a broken crank on one of these 3800's. I've seen rods in pieces, pistons in the pan.. even holes in pans. Just never a broken crank. However with your symptoms..there really isn't much else.
You asked about metal in the oil. When you kill a bearing and it wears away..that metal flake is in the oil. When you break something big..you might have large chunks that won't fit through the drain hole.
I'm honestly very interested and would like to see pics.
