2005 GP base, 3.8 NA, climate control is manual (no LCD)
A while back my blower was blowing full nonstop, even when the car was off. I knew it was a common problem and I unplugged the blower to spare the battery. I also got a new rain deflector to go over the air intake so I won't need to worry about the old gasket popping loose and dumping water inside.
Yesterday I got a new resistor and plugged it in. Then turned my car on and turned the climate on. Nothing worked.
I checked, I am getting 12-14v on red, and 0.03 ohms continuity between black wire and bare metal so the supply is OK. I am getting 0v on grey wire with the control off, and between 0.1 and 0.5v when I turned the fan speed control up. Is that normal for a DC meter?
Regardless of what setting I use, there is no output to blower. 0v on both black and purple wire.
First: is there a way to be sure I didn't get a dud resistor?
Second: is there a way to make sure I didn't get an automatic version by accident? does the plug and module for both manual and auto resistor module look the same or are they different?
Third: what else needs to be checked?
