It's a rare box. Heck.. I haven't even seen the filter that goes in it.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Its a cone filter.i cant believe that nobody has went through this yet.would it be a bad idea to just do away with the box? Would that change the ram air effect?

You can't really ram a supercharger based on driving with enough air to do much. So no.. you won't lose much if anything by removing it.

In using some basic physics, it probably hurts more than helps.

The SLP one will fit. Those guys should know that it fits. They just went from a K&N to blackwing. The SLP CAI boxes use a 7" cone filter. I recommend you get a dry filter. I have an amsoil one EaAU3570. This came in handy when I was looking for a replacement.

It should fit. You are right there is some type of generic filter in there that resembles a K&N. If you cleaned it and it removed the color from the filter then go ahead and re-oil it.

Now I dont know if my filter needs oil or not.it didnt seem to have red oil come out just brown water i believe.i dont know what brand it is and it has no name or numbers on it.it is a white or light grey with one single chrome strip down it.the black rubber top has 3 circles on it.waiting for a response before I oil it or not dont know if it matters and it wont let me post pics from my phone or tablet to show filter.

I mean worst case scenario just measure the space available the best you can and get a filter from someone like K&N who offers like 8 trillion difference sizes of filters to choose from. Just get the biggest dimensions you can for the space available. Or if you dont care about keeping it original, rip out the box and sell it or something and run open cone.

Just take the filter into the parts store I'm sure you can find one that's similar.
