Thread: Can someone in the Boise, ID help me fix my coolant elbow on a 2000 Grand Prix GTP?

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this but I need the coolant elbows on my 2000 Grand Prix GTP changed. I live in Boise, ID. I've checked a couple of shops and they want close to $300 and from what I've been reading here it's pretty much a 30 minute to 3 hour job depending on experience. So is there someone in this area that can help me out? I will pay you well. Thank you!

Hey man not sure about the fwd elbow change but on my rwd 3.8 camaro it wasn't bad at all. Gives you great experience in getting familiar with the car.

Then it is exactly the same. Except easier on rwd do yourself a favor and buy the metal elbows, will never have to worry about them again. And I used a little rtv on the elbows upon installation. And took the opportunity to paint my alternator and tensioner assembly while it was out.

You have some tools? Socket set? Easy to find info online or use all data at library. Plastic elbows break off inside casting so digging out old bits is hard. Use some scuff pad to clean crud out of ports.
