For those of you that have had your door panels off, is there anything behind this red circle? Is it just empty space? I was thinking about mounting my AF gauge there. Since the gauge depth is less than an inch I am thinking it may work.

Why don't you just mount it in the top left vent? Just buy a cord away grommet from staples.

It's been awhile since I had my door panel off so I can't answer that question but why not just take yours off and have a look. It'll probably be quicker then waiting for a answer. After all it's just 2 10mm bolts holding it on.

Yea...not sure why exactly you would want to mount it there besides just wanting to be different but that being said I would still just get a gauge pillar or mount it down in the chubby whole or fab up a HUD mount

I have a pillar pod, but the quality is lacking. It has shiny spots, and places where it just looks dirty. ZZP customer service said they are all like that, that's how they come out of the mold. So I was just looking for a different spot to mount them. I may try to fab up a custom hud pod or something. Maybe dsmuts still has my old 97-03 hud pod I can modify?!?

That's ZZP for you. You know that's a inexpensive fix...just get a paint in similar color and respray it.
