OBDII Scanner vs. Aeroforce

Hi all, quick question..

I am looking to put a 3.5 pulley in soon, but my car seems to be running a little funky. I had an 08 Impala SS (V8-308hp) and switched to a 99 GTP (V6-240hp) so I do not know if it is just my mind playing tricks on me or if something needs to be fixed.

I would like to get a scanner and check codes and what not and try to find out if there is anything that needs to be fixed. Will the Aeroforce pull codes? I would also like it to check KR. From what I have been reading KR isn't too much of a big deal with a 3.5 pulley, so I do not think I need the Gauge on my dashboard checking it all the time, but I could be wrong.

I am not looking to tune myself, or anything fancy, I just want to check codes right now and make sure everything is running right, then have it to check KR when my pulley is swapped.

If there are any other benefits of either please let me know what they are and why. This is my daily driver so I do not need to optimize my quarter mile times. Just working towards some good MPG and some HP/Torque. P.S. I do not have a droid, so I cannot run that app.

Do you have any supporting mods? If you're going to drop pulley size, I would definitely get an aeroforce

Yes the aeroforce pulls codes.

Without knowing your other mods, swapping to a 3.5 on a stock motor will just add more KR. And a 3.5 is pretty much a 3.4, most people will not notice a difference in the ~1psi of boost. So saying its not too much of a big deal is wrong, the car may not like the pulley drop.

I have put new spark plugs in, new spark plug wires, and a 180 tstat. I also have an aftermarket exhaust, nothing fancy though.

From what I've been reading, a couple websites don't mention adding mods until the 3.4 pulley, and that seems to be where the KR problems come in. I was going to start another thread for this, but since we are on the topic of support mods for a 3.5, is their anything else I should do? I would rather not go crazy with CAI, downpipes, headers, etc if I don't have to. But if it is recommended then I will.

Flow is needed before pulley drops in my opinion.

I say either a plog/downpipe or headers if you are serious about dropping pulleys. I like to know that the motor has as much flow as it needs before adding more air/power to it.

Can I just get the U-Bend delete and save a couple hundred dollars?

No.

The U-bend is one of 3 problems in the exhaust system. Front manifold, fatory downpipes size and the u-bend.

Thats why people either buy a 3in downpipe to increase the flow and remove the u-bend and get the powerlog or just get headers to cover all the bases.
