    Sooo an update....

I cant explain this but as a joke to one of my friends, i banged the steering wheel in frustration about lack of AC and turned it on to prove to him it dont work... and magically it turned on! Im very confused... It works perfectly fine, even feels colder than before! Mind you, that i didnt do anything to it, and the condensor has a hole according to shop. Any one care to try to explain this lol?

There are tubes and fins.. it could look like it has a hole and just be in a fin only area. Smile and enjoy it.

Just so you know how lucky you are..I've been luckier.

My car was waiting for a trans and I was doing it at my buddies shop. So after we pulled the trans, the subframe goes back on and we don't bother with wheels, on a jack it's rolled out of the way. We are rolling it back onto the lift when the jack went over.. pushed the rad and condensor upwards. The radiator broke the plastic holding it in (Bonneville luckily) and the condensor just gets smooshed. Not a damn thing leaked.

You always have some of the best things on the forum to say lol. I get excited every time i see its a post by you!

Anyways... I feel super lucky that it out of nowhere started working! florida heat is bad. (so bad my car for the first time in like a year was reaching 210 when it usually stays around 185.) Ill be honest im a bit confused still because some i swear some freon leaked out =/. But in the mean time, im enjoying my luckiness and my ice cold ac!

But damn, that one hell of a story! Definitely luckier than me lol! These things seem fragile but from now experience are tougher than they look lol. (couldnt say the same about my aftermarket trans cooler as it got smashed in accident)

Maybe the trans cooler (easier and cheaper) took the hit.

Have fun on the power steering.

If it wasn't blowing air before, and the blower came on when you banged the steering wheel, that says bad ignition switch. ScottyDogs pointed that out a few posts back. Not sure how the "shop" diagnosed a hole in the condenser when there is no air blowing out of the vents. There's a link in the How2 section on changing the ignition switch without taking off the steering wheel, it's not a bad job.

The hood latch saved the radiator support! If it was a bit right or left my rad support would have been screwed along with my motor. With that in mind, the hood latch bar that stretches to the bottom.... is what bent and peirced the trans cooler. im happy it was only the cooler. cheap $30 and 15 minute fix that was.

Ugh im considering getting it done by shop... only 300 bucks. There is no space under there )=

Um... well this is where things get weird... My ignition has been Effed since i bought the car... last owner put in remote start. Hell i can start my car with no key lol. And this stupid remote start system, i think has a short somewhere that kills my cars battery within 8-10 hours.

I gotta question also, my ac WAS working up until 2 weeks ago and I pulled in front of my house to hear hissing from the drivers front of my car kinda behind the bumper i think with what looked like smoke or steam, and last week I put some dye to see where exactly it's leaking. I also took my headlight out found the dye inside the bottom of the bumper below my drivers side headlight .. It's an 2004 prix gtp do you guys think it could be the condenser or something different ?

I just replaced my condenser. A hole was rubbed through the aluminum top side from hitting the frame. Same hissing was heard before the loss of a/c.

Is there a write up on how to change the condenser?
