Ok I've run in a few snags after my engine swap, this is just adding to the list.

Ok, today it's like 90 degrees outside so i turn the ac on and no cold air so I went and picked up 3 small cans of freon. Hook it up to the low pressure port and no pressure at all so I fill it up anyways and two cans later nothing.

I didn't hear the ac compressor engage. Is there a way u can visually check the compressor to see if it's engaging? I looked and it didn't appear to be moving. Also my temp gauge on the dash hasn't been working so could that stop the ac from engaging? The car isn't overheating or anything because I've been checking the temps with my torque app.

The temp light comes on immediately when I put the car in drive. Anyone have any suggestions before I take it to a shop?

If the outside temp sensor thinks it's to cold it won't let the compressor engage.

Ok would the temp gauge not working cause that? The computer is reading the temps but the dash isn't showing it.

No that's your coolant temp sensor in the lim. Unless it's sending a signal to the pcm saying it's like 12* or something like that.

Just remembered something when I checked under the car i didn't notice an ambient sensor under it if I recall. Could that stop it?

yeah the ambient air sensor is what lets the compressor know when it's ok to turn on.

Or the IAT on the cars that don't have the ambient air temp sensor.

Ok I'll try that first and go from there. I have the iat which is in my air intake correct? I have a 99 gtp in a 98 gt body. I don't have a digital hvac though so should I even have the sensor that's under the car?

See what your Intake air temp is. I'm not sure on the ambient air temp sensor if you should have it or not.
