so what is the answer to this? im having the same issues
Probably the EBCM doing a check on the ABS system. Sounds normal to me from what I've heard about the 97's.
here is what my GF sent me yesterday about the car
I went out started it again it stayed on but sounds rickety in the engine kinda like something is clanking more high pitch than a knocking sound, I could smell some gas but not sure if it blew from the exhaust area. There is also a high pitch buzzing sound toward the rear of the car. I looked under didn’t see anything red. Shut it off, waited a few seconds started again it stayed on but still sounded crappy. I gassed it a bit the boost didn’t light up at all. I’m not going to mess with it anymore tonight.
The high pitched buzzing sound is likely your fuel pump. Normal. Might need a fuel filter change if it's struggling to push fuel. That can make them louder than normal.
Not sure about the tapping. Could be a number of things. Best to get a vid and post it here so we can hear it.
If you haven't already, start your own thread in the 3.8 S/C section for more help. We don't want to clutter up this thread with unrelated tech.
thanks ill post there
i got nothing on that end...
i did replace the coupler, no crackling/rattle/grind. however it did want to die until i hit the throttle cable from under the hood. im thinking a throttle pos sens or a fuel filter? thoughts?
I would lean towards the fuel filter as maybe thats causing the pump to work more thus making the noise noticeable.
