My friend has a 95 Pontiac grand am and there have been a few issues going on. first, the coolant is leaking and it seems to be getting on the belts. I did a visual inspection and it is coming from the inside part of the belts/pulleys/engine block. Not really sure if these cars had any problems with coolant leaks, but we just cant pinpoint the location.
Next, when he puts some pressure on the breaks, we hear this mechanical click noise and the brake light or abs will go on for a few seconds then disappear. I got out of the car while he braked next and it is definitely coming from the engine bay. BUT, when we go to brake hard nothing happens. His brakes are fine and they have been checked out. Sounds like an electrical problem, but again we aren't sure of the exact location or part that is causing this to happen.
The next thing is that he said his mph gauge was going/fluctuating up and down when he was driving at a constant speed. he described it as if he were revving the engine and "you were watching the rpm gauge".
Hopefully you guys can give some good advice because we definitely need it. Thanks!!
