Hey guys, I'm looking into buying new mufflers for my 04 GP. Flowmaster super 44s to be exact..
Now my question has to do with the inlet/outlet sizes.. stock they come 2" in 2.25" out, right?
would I be correct to order mufflers that are 2.25" in/out?
and also was looking at nice shiny new tips (I don't like the stock tips) and was wondering if the mufflers outlet is 2.25" should I get a weld-on tip with 2.25 inlet or 2.5 inlet?

    Thanks.

Flowmasters sound like total crap, FYI.

    But stock is 2.25".

You can always downsize it...but just get the 2.25" inlet and whatever outlet you want.

Those mufflers will drone and your ears might bleed.

But anyways the pipe from the "Y" back is roughly 2in, so you will want to pick the size according to that.

It's better than the droning caused by the giant holes I have in my mufflers right now ahahahaahh
What would you guys suggest for mufflers?
My friend has the super 44s on his ls4 and they sound great, I didn't really notice that much of a drone.

I'm asking this because I want to know if I should buy a larger size than the current inlet to fit over the piping so it can be welded over instead of buying the same size as the pipe and welding it together?
Same goes for the tips, if the outlet of the muffler is 2.25 should I buy 2.5 inlet tips to fit over the muffler pipe so it can be welded?

I know it might sound like a "noob" question I just want to make sure I'm getting this right before I spend $300 on mufflers and tips.

    Thanks again

And for what its worth I would say a turbo style or straight through muffler is going to drone alot less then a chambered flowmaster
