I would like to know if it would be worth the extra money to go with iridium spark plugs over copper core spark plugs. I saw a post before I went to go buy some spark plugs that said most people are replacing their spark plugs with copper cores

If you are stock and don't plan on modding and don't feel like changing spark plugs every 15k miles, you want AC Delco 41-101 Iridium spark plugs, they are by far the best ones for the car.
ok cool so i'll stick with the iridium spark plugs. I do plan on modding some but not immediately. For right now I'm doing more with the appearance of the car after I finish the maintenance.
thanks for replying also
Good Luck with changing those rear plugs. Do a search on this forum on how to make your life eaiser when changing the plugs. If you have alot of miles on the car get a set of plug wires too. Usually when you change the rear plugs you might damage the plug wires. I took the advise on this forum and did the job once, new plugs and wires at 85,000 miles. This will possibly the last set of plugs and wires I will do again on this car. Go with stock acdelco iridium plugs and wires, its usually the best!
I changed my stock acdelco iridiums at 150k (When I did my top swap) And they almost looked like they were in better shape then the brand new plugs (104s) I had just bought. They were seriously perfect.
wow at 150k still looked good? thanks for the advice I was just looking down at the rear plugs and they look pretty hard to get to
I did the the rear plugs by feel and still got the job done,it helps to have long arms.Lol
lol i was thinking i'll do the same.. gotta use this 6'8 wingspan somehow lol
unless you have bananas for finger, the rears take maybe 5 extra minutes....and if you do have those huge dinner plates for hands just ratchet the engine forward, adds maybe 10 mins....
but like everyone else mentioned invest in new wires, you'll be sure to rip em apart....stockers are perfectly fine efficiency wise, larger wires just make the removal process that much easier....
ok i'll get some wires also. I'm almost positive I would rip them lol its going to be my first time changing spark plugs to tell you the truth.
depending on the year of the car you might not even have to remove the rear o2 sencer to get to the last plug either i didnt need to i have an 04 gt
You can get the NKG's a little cheaper then the AC Delco's sometimes. I found out that NKG makes the iridium plugs for AC Delco. If you look on the metal of some plugs it will say NKG. I got the NKG's on sale saves 6 bucks was dollar off per plug
Delco, NGK, and Autolite make iridium plugs for our motors. I'd grab whichever was on sale, too - all three should perform identically.
As for O2 sensors, you shouldn't have to remove it for any spark plug job, regardless of 3800.
stock engines are .060" huge gap, biggest gap i have ever seen.
if you delete your evap and egr and get rid of all the unused stuff that goes along with it, rear plugs are easy peazy
also headers give you more space to work around too.
Just pop the two front motor mounts offf and rock the motor forward. Takes litterally 5 mins. Gives you enough room to stick your head and arms back there. Makes header installs and spark plugs easy.
cool thanks for all the advice.. I will try to do it by feel first but if that does not work I will most likely remove motor mounts to rock the motor forward like frosty mentioned.
