I have a 2006 Grand Prix GT with 73k miles. Recent maintenance: trans fluid and filter change, supercharger oil change, coolant flush.

Every once in a blue moon (sometimes will happen immediately pulling out of a car wash, don't know if that has anything to do with it) I'll accelerate from a stop and I'll have to push on the gas harder than normal, and as it's accelerating I can feel it gradually gaining power. I can immediately stop and accelerate again and it'll accelerate normally. I have no idea where to start, and it's hard to diagnose because it's only done it a few times.

I believe it is in the fuel tank on the 06's.

If its the same fuel system as my 06 its in tank. And mine doesn't have the access panel. But u can make the access panel your self by cutting it in trunk. There a spot for it but they just didn't cut in

I'm about 98% sure the 04's were the last year to get the easy to replace fuel filter.

04-05 was the last years, 05 depends on build date.

Some have reported issues finding the correct fuel filter from the aftermarket for those few cars that had serviceable filters.

I'd suggest a dealer filter in that case.
