The stock L67 Throttle Body had a crack in it so who I purchased the top swap kit from threw in the N* to replace the cracked original. So I have it or a L36 TB. Figured I'd use the N*.

May find a L67 Throttle body just to have and switch out down the road if needs be.
XP cam w/retainers came in today
Double Roller Timing set, 105# springs, 42.5# injectors arrive tomorrow.
Also got a modular pulley system with 3.4 pulley and L36 to L67 wiring harness. I probably could have wired it myself, but the package prewired with factory plugs is nice to have!!
Are the speed daddy headers worth it? seems like to good of a price to be true....
yeah there good, mine are like 6 years old and still look good
3.4 pulley is going to outflow gtp 33's injectors, you will have plenty of maff though on a stock l67TB FWIW
Great, if you can post a pic of your headers here that would be cool. I wouldn't mind seeing them. I did go ahead and order them yesterday, they are suppose to be here Friday!!
As for the Injectors, I went ahead and ordered the Lucas 42.5# injectors incase I decide to expand later down the road. They won't hurt to go ahead and have.
I appreciate the info thus far!!
Motor is at the machine shop getting the bottom end done. Eager to get it back and start buttoning everything up. I'll have some port and polish work done to the heads and a valve job. Also talked to them about the oil pump cover, and yes they knew exactly what is needed to be done. Builder said they do it to the LSx motors all the time.
I priced head bolts vs studs and I went ahead and purchased the studs, probably overkill but ehh..
One question though... I went to O'Reilly's to get LS7 lifters and they had them in stock for a 2010 Z06. I got curious and had them look up the lifters for the L67 and it was the same Sealed Power number (only brand they had them in) as the LS7 ones??? Are they the same?? If they are I have a brand new set of lifters sitting in oil that have 0 miles on them... Was ran for about 15 minutes on them then the motor blew when I put coolant in (hydro locked). When I pulled the motor I pulled the lifters and put them in a pan of clean oil, put a lid on the pan and put them up. They have been sitting in the oil every since. If lifters aren't that big of a deal based on my setup, I'll use the new stockers I have...
Motor is pulled.. Figured I'd post pics of it and a few of the parts I have.. Going to the machine shop tomorrow to find out where they stand and what's going on.
motor pulled
Big hole
Cam, Pulley system, Headers (just pulled the main pieces out of the box to see)
I have good rods now!!! Machine shop told me they were going to break it off in me and I said NO... LOL I found me a L26 with only 27K for $500 so I jumped all over it!! It will be the platform for my Top Swap build now!!!
And yeah when I pulled the valve cover!!! Christmas!!!!!
dammmmmmmmmmmmm looks really good
Wow the inside of that motor is super clean
Figured I'd update. I have it tore down as far as I'm going to go, next step is to install the cam and put her back together.
Crank sprocket machined.
Removed the LIM. Everything looks great so far!!
Underneith of the LIM that I won't use, but I'll keep.
Catch up.. Everything is stripped down, I have the XP cam installed with the JP double roller. Very pleased on how it went together!!
I'm studded!!!!
Figured I'd mock up some stuff..
Nic
Well the motor is in and it fired up!!!!! But it's idling at like 1100 - 1200 RPM, I think I have my vacuum routing wrong. Well I know I do, I have my FPR only seeing vacuum so it's probably causing a problem. I need to redo it, will today. And my battery took a poop, won't hold a charge and is hissing at me. Looks like I gotta get a new one of those to. BUT other then that all sounds good when it ran, just couldn't hear the cam with it reved.. I'll tinker with it again today. One other issue is my N* cable, I gotta do some tweeking with it. I have the bracket, but it's still not right. installed it pulles on the linkage opening the butterfly some. Small things I hope!!!! But here's pics..
****LAST PIC OF THE "MOTOR" IS A VIDEO****
Your butterfly on the tb being open a little will cause the higher idle.
Yep, that's why I haven't hooked it up yet.. LOL Well, I did hook the pedal cable up and saw it was causing the issue, so I unhooked it before I went to start the car. It's an issue I have to fix.
I think the idle is from my FPR. I have it hooked up like my L36 was... (yeah I'm a dumbazz) so it's not seeing boost. I'm about to go out and reroute the vacuum lines to end the vacuum only at the BBV and run the FPR off the nipple on the LIM.
