I just got a new set of street fire MSD wires and was wondering if its really needed to run the cloth/fiberglass boot protectors since i have headers?
They say they are high heat resistant and ive ran my factory plug wire almost touching the header without the metal protector for 2000 miles with out a problem.

    thanks

I've never needed them. I rerouted them and ziptied the front wires to the fan bracing anyway just for a cleaner look. I had problems with my msd wires though. They ended up in the trash.
