My '04 GTP heater didn't work when I turned it on today. The blower works fine, no heat at all....not even luke warm. The temperature guage works like always has so I was told it s not the thermostat. Will a flush help or is this a heater core issue?

You can try a coolant flush and see what that does. Make sure you flush the heater core and bleed the system of air really well.

If thats not it, then start looking into a blend door problem. They are common.

If your problem turns out to be the heater core , don't tear your dash apart. It's at the bottom and not to hard to get at. Only the front seats and console come out , and then look under the dash and there it is.

I had to flush my heater core this summer. To make it a little easier, I used a couple of washing machine water supply hoses with one of the ends cut off. Luckily the OD of the washing machine hose fits nicely into the ID of the heater hose. You can then just attach your garden hose to the lines and back flush it with no mess or stress. Just remove the hoses from the alternator bracket an insert the washer hoses and flush away.

you have air in the heater core, take both hoses off the alt bracket, put a garden hose to one of the hoses, and flush it till clear water comes out, fill both hoses and put them back on, you should be good to go after that.
