are fuel sender units compatible with other brand gauges?

regret buying a prosport electrical fuel pressure gauge with a full 0-100psi sweep. i had to send back the fuel sender unit 3 times as it was faulty after 2-3 weeks each time and quite frankly im fed up with it. i only had to pay shipping for a POS sender unit made in taiwan . for now the gauge is still on but since its not connected to anything its pointed to ful pressure whenever theres a 12v source is powered on. my question is if i can get another company's fuel sender unit and connect the wires from the gauge to it and have it working right and not broken?:th_scratchhead:

You would need to find one that matches the markings on the Prosport one exactly. The PSI range, and the Ohms range.
