I was reading something on false KR being cause by engine noise can't imagine my engine being any louder so wondered if there was anyway to check/compensate for it

also read something on turning tcs off advancing timing to deter false KR wondering if this holds any water

Im beginning to think I suffer from alot of KR and my torque pro is not properly reading it all the time. it alarms me at 5 degrees 1/5 max boost pulls otherwise sits at .0 at idle and .7 under boost

if the scanner is correct is isolated pockets of immense KR a sign of needing a tune to compensate for flo mods?

trying to figure out a sputter at 60%+ boost before a tune to ensure the tune will fix it and having issues. any help would be appreciated

    current mods
headers intake 180tstat ram air hood 3inch DP
    egr cat and resonator delete
I'm sorry officer I didnt know I couldn't do that

the top dogbones are I should probably check the sub frame bolts been maybe 100miles since headers install but I torqued the **** outta them.

is it more engine vibration than noise that causes the false KR?

If the lower motor mount is smashed it'll cause the motor to move and hit either the trans dipstick or the sway bar or somewhere else. Mine was junk and was causing KR i thought was false.

ill have to look at it but when I hand throttle it up I dont notice alot of motion at all idk how much more drastic it is at road conditions but my o2 sensor from SD headers hits my FW in reverse its very noticeable as far as feedback but aside for that I don't feel much in the form of vibrations I still have the stock dogbone mounts.

so KR is more dominant via vibrations and noise is less of an aspect?

Yeah its more of a vibration. Are you sure your o2 is clearing?

If I go to tuner and find out all this is due to some KR my phone hasnt been reading I won't either still trying to cover every angle before I go there though

went and cleaned MAF and air filter letting it dry over night no problems en route or back at any RPM boost range...

    1. There is no such thing as false KR. KR is a retardation of timing based on noise being heard by the knock sensors. If noise is heard...it's not false. Just a personal pet peeve on the idea of false KR.

    2. The types of things that can cause the knock sensors to report noise are loose brackets on the engine (like leaving a motor mount loose that injects off noise to the block). Predetonation is a big one. Using the right fuel, having the right tune etc.

You mention an issue about 60% throttle. Check plug gap, etc etc. It's either you needing a tune or something that isn't right in the whole combo. Thing really is.. once you start modding, it's all a big game of finding the perfect combo of what works best in your car.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
