So I checked 2 fuses in passenger end of dash of and 2 fuses in fuse box under hood. All perfect, thus checked relay / module that deals with the low beams, that seams okay but I would not know fore sure. And how it can be tested.

It has 3 male pins on one side of it in verticle pattern labeled -5,-4 and -2, across from the -4 is a pin on it's own marked as -6. GM part number is # 15016745. Now is this my problem when my low beams go out for a few minutes at a time, never knowing when or how often, not really steady problem either.

I could not tell you if temperture matters or not. I know bumps are not a factor. And any bare wiring would be set off alot more often , so I rule that out also.

Or is it what GM parts guy figures the headlight switch assembly on the left side of steering column, GM part number # 25804853. If it is this part that is bad, what in detail are we talking as far as me, a beginner lets say to fix this myself.

Does the steering wheel and or air bag need to be removed etc etc. Or just that plastic housing around column behind steering wheel. I used and likely will buy my parts from RockAuto.com and used there info to help me in many ways.

I have the same problem in my 06 base. It was bare wireing for me. And it was also completly random backroads or highway didnt matter would just shut off then all of the sudden come back on. If you have ever removed the headlights and and put them back in or if the previous owner ever did this it is verry easy to stip the wires running to the bulb. if they get caught where the little plastic nub slips into place and u try to push down the retainer bar it will for sure stip them.

Check both headlights high and low beams and pay close attention to the wires. It may be hard to see. Hope this helps

I will do that . But it can't be that cheap and simple ??? No such luck. So you say bumps and temps made no difference as to when it would do that ??

OK, so I also have the same issue with my 06 base GP, low beams cut off for a period, high beams will still work but want to get to the bottom of this problem. What was the solution exactly? Was it a ground wire or a wire in the bulb socket itself?

@kalp it was a wire running to the bulb socket. Not sure if it was a ground or hot. Cant remember. For the longest time I could not figure out what the problem was untill I had to replace a bulb that burnt out. I just happen to see where the wire was striped a little bit. It was shorting out somewhere in there.
