I dont mean to sound like a jackass, but this is like the third or fourth thread Ive had to move today alone. We need to pay attention to where we are posting up at and make sure it is in the appropriate location.

Every vehicle I ever had did it. I have thought of many ways to stop it but never tried any of the ridiculous ideas in my head. Can't really help ya out here.

I have superglued mine before but it didnt last but 2 days before moving again. I always thought of taking the mirror apart and putting some rubber cement or plastidip in the mirror hole and letting it dry so there would be a rubbery gription but never have done it yet.

Atleast your mirrior is staying on. Mine keeps popping off the window from the bass. Finally said the hell with it and just left it off.

remove the rear view mirror, its not regulated to be there by the NHSB, you only need 2 rear facing mirrors.

If its always pointing at the floor just rip it off and no more problems

local laws may change that though, some areas you have to have it (that's why you'll see the cube vans with them)

They must have 2 rear facing mirrors, one of which must be on the left side. Thats federal vehicle code. Ive owned cars that were never equipped with seat-belts and been thru the court system for years with new cops enforcing new laws on grandfathered vehicles. However, While the court fights were going on I read alot of vehicle codes. From federal down to my local town.

I am very happy to figure this out as soon as I have his local town so I can read the local ordinance. SC state law is the same as federal law.

I have dealt with it in several states, if it came with a mirror it must remain regardless of what is added. All you have to do is ask at the police department

What states, ive been thru alot of em both east and west coast as well as the midwest and have never had an issue with the windshield mounted RVM.

I ripped one of them off while the cop was talking to me about a crack in it, said it was a obstruction of view, I invited him to look thru the front window from the driver seat, he agreed the RVM was a bigger obstruction of view then a vertical crack was. I ripped it off.

I find it funny that we let cops get away with whatever they want. You dont need a RVM, side views when adjusted right give you the same field of view that the hi mount RVM does.

in GA they can write it, in a few other states (I have been to every state except Alaska and Hawaii) my passenger mirror is almost useless around here for people behind me since it being a convex it won't show the tailgater (they allow you to be less than a half a car length away in Alabama) also realize the laws are not written by the police, they are enforced by them
