Long story short, I had an engine fire, buring the top of my motor along with the harness and got into the fuel rails a little.. Not bad, but I am in the process of replacing parts and have come across a snag. I don't want to splice into a harness and I want to find the correct engine harness for my car. I have a 1999 Grand Prix GT 3800 N/A. So far I have found a 2001 and 2002 Grand Prix from Morad that I can get for $170 shipped. I have found local a 1999 Buick (not sure the make) but it's got a 3800 N/A motor in it and I can get it for $100.

How year and car specific are these harnesses? Am I better off at getting the 01-02 GP harness as opposed to the 99 Buick harness? I have heard and read everything and just want to know what would be easiest to put back in and any help would be appreciated.

If you have other questions please let me know and I'll answer what I can to help.

None of those gp ones will work. Injector connectors are different.

Pre 01 are the only years that will work IIRC.

Unsure if 97/98 will work but that regal harness should be fine.

Maf was different in 97/98. Unsure if they have the same connector. I think they do but im not sure.

Ok.... Found a 98 GT harness from Morad... They sent me several pics and all looks right, but I have not messed with harnesses... Any info on the 98 vs 99, MORAD couldn't tell me a difference? If it is just fuel injector connectors, I have two sets of connectors that I can splice what I need on, I just don't want the ABS to be different or something important missing that needs to be there.. LOL ANY help or directions would be appreciated.

There are slight differences in the 98 harness and my 99 (as seen in the pics) Can anyone tell me where I can find pin configurations online? I can not find anything.. Anyone had any luck moving pins? Any help would be appreciated, I'd like to purchase a harness and get my car back on the road, tired of driving my project car around!! LOL

In this pic you can see where the block screws into the back of the fuse/relay panel that mounts on the pass side strut tower the one pin is moved and two others on the 98 harness are NOT on my harness. if I knew where these went to I could better judge if this harness will work. The one that is existing on both just moved is a black/white striped wire.

This is a pic of the ABS module. My 99 is on the left, the 98 from MORAD is on the right. You can see everything is the exact same with the exception of one pin existing on the 98 harness that mine does not have. Any ideas??
