For starters I have a 97 buick regal gs with i believe to be a PCM problem. I swapped a junkyard PCM in it with the correct OSID or whatever its called, but none of my gauges work when the car is started. I've tried two different 97 regal bins, both of which have worked for me in the past. I can write files to the computer fine but it almost seems as though I have the wrong PCM. I'm kind of lost on what to do. Any ideas? Heres a picture if it helps.

Not sure which link will work on this forum so i will post a couple and one is bound to work.

What's the issue dude? looks like your temp gauge is working backwards and you can't see the LED displays. The display issue is about 20 minutes to fix wtih resistors and if the cluster is nto functioning properly..it's likely a bad cluster, not a pcm.

I picked up a Regal where the temp gauge was backwards, all the lights were on, mileage was like yours...and the oil light flashed. Swapped the cluster out with another and it was magical.

WOW if that is really the problem then I am an idiot. I took it for a drive down the road and it wouldn't shift out of first, but now that i am thinking about it it might just be the TPS sensor. Going to go check that then I will report back.

Wait one more thing I should have stated. When trying to start the car, it will start itself once the key is in the ON position. Thats what led me to believe it was the PCM because I put a Grand Prix file on this regal before and that is exactly what it would do.

Also in that picture the car is running. Only thing that works is the speedo. The gas gauge and RPM even worked before I wrote a different bin file to it.

RPM shouldnt be dependent on the pcm..
    Fuel might be.

What would RPM be dependent on then? The crank sensor?

Just checked the codes, Nothing popped up other than an EGR code which is because I don't have it plugged in.

What year bin files have you flashed to the pcm? different osid's may assign the pinouts differently and cause all kinds of issues.

I used the bin file off of dhp for the 97 regal which I've used numerous times and I tried the 97 regal bin file that dark horizon provided from his sticky on clubgp. I've tried writing to it using the pcm file vain and manually typing the vain. Both with no success

Have you pulled the cluster to see if the connector is loose?
