Hey guys. I'm looking for new rotors that won't rust, ever! Lol. Are the zinc coated rotors the answer? Thanks in advance, John

John...closest thing I've found are R1Concepts rotors. I have 38K on them and so far, they are basically rust free.
Yeah, they are coated.. Not sure with what. I paid about $100 for the front set. Didn't get the rears.
bill are they same brand i got from max? if so they rust if left sitting for a few months. the set max sent had a fair amount of rust on them from sitting for a few months.
and id say my car now stops every bit as good as your car with the set up i got from max. i'v yet to feel the abs kick in, damn car just stops fast now.
I would suggest centric premium rotors.
Quality metal, e-stat coating, made in the USA most of the time.
That sounds false for two reasons:
One they're less than centrics, two centrics come coated.
UNLESS they're economy centrics.
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices Hopefully you guys can see this link. These are expensive but are an example of what I was thinking. The distributor is R1Concepts. They have everything from basic rotors to high end. Ok. I don't think the link works.
If you go to Ebay and search "05 Pontiac Grand Prix R1Concepts rotors" it brings up that stores listings. They have basic and up to high end coated and painted. Hoping not to spend $400 on 4 rotors but I will if that means "rust free", lol

Those look like powerstops.
EBay rotors are FTW.
R1 Concepts is where I bought mine years ago.
They have been on the blue car for awhile, and that car sits...and let me tell you...no rust at all.
Matt..when I bought the R1's, I was told that I could have bought Centrics cheaper.
I have had my new rotors on for about 10 months now, no rust so far.
I agree, my car was spotless except for the rusty looking rotors and calipers, got new slotted rotors and custom painted calipers, car really pops now
I do keep my car in the garage and wash it regularly though, so that helps.
Mornin Bill, I have been shoppin on Ebay for a rotors/ceramic pads combo. A few things I have seen are the quality of steel used in the rotors and the coating used. Don't mean to get too technical on specs but I want the best I can get at the best price for everday driving. I don't need racing quality rotors. How much money would be too much for all four with pads in your opinion? Also, some of the rotors I've looked at are drilled and slotted for cooler braking temps. I read that the grooves can actually chop at the pads if not used in high speed driving. Is that true?
