i have a 92 grand prix. last week it stalled out after a long drive when i tried to take off. it started right back up so i thought nothing of it. now a week or so later this 'stalling" is becoming a huge problem. i almost got into an accident because i tried to take off across traffic "turn left" and it stalled out. i almost got hit before it started back up. after it stalls i have to hold pedal to floor to get it rto start. it coughs and sputters before it goes again. it used to do this(stall) only when taking off from a stop. now it is stalling at highway speeds when given the gas. i think my fuel pump is going out...

tune up yes. codes no. has 266k miles. runs great 25-26mpg but has developed this stall problem. it will only start back up if i hold pedal to floor when cranking. it used to start right back up but now it takes 5-6 tries before it will stay running. i believe the problem whatever it is has rapidly gotten worse. this is a safty concern for me. the feul low light will go on and off randomly while driving. not sure why. check gauges light will also go on and off randomly

Either the fuel pump is dieing, or the MAF is going bad. A bad MAF may not set a code. You can disconnect the MAF and still drive it (gently) and see if it gets better. The only other idea I have is that the Crank Position Sensor is going bad. Do you notice the tach dropping to 0 before it stalls? If so, then this is a tell-tale sign of a bad crank sensor.

at that many miles cleaning your MAF sensor isnt a bad idea anyways.
and i am thinking along the lines of fuel pump as well...
