Thread: luke warm heat

These michigan winters are killing me considering the majority of this winter ive had very little heat in my sc 07 gp. I just got done swapping out the tstat and bleeding the air out of the lines. there doesnt seem to be any coolant leaking into the vehicle so i am assuming the issue isnt the heater core, which makes me wonder what my next course of action should be. any suggestions?

thats what i was thinking but im having trouble finding a detailed write up on this with pictures. i have a general idea but i like to be sure when it comes to things like this.

There are two small hoses in the back of the engine that goes to ur heater core in the fire wall. U want to flush water through both hoses to get water flowing in both directions and u want the flow to be even coming out both ways and until the water is clear. U should also go ahead and do a flush and put the nice green coolant in there. Or u could wait till its nice out just don't mix the two if u add some

I have used a bit of muradic or hydrocloric acid to accellerate the clean out of a heater core as well. dilute it a bit and fill the core up with the fluid for a minute or 2, then blow it out with fresh water.
