This is for people that know this car, I lock my trunk, it has a lock inside and when activated wont allow me to open the trunk either with the button inside the car, and my key wont open it, dont know why, I tried to pull down the rear seat but it says the release for them is in the trunk, does anybody know if I can get them down some other way? or how else do I open it without having to go to the locksmith or dealer? please help thanks

    What year car is it?

Most grand prixs have access to the trunk from the fold down in the rear seat which has is locked and unlocked from inside the car.

If worse comes to worse, maybe try taking the 6x9's off the rear deck and try reaching your arm in there and maybe unlocking the back seat door to the trunk.

To my knowledge no Grand Prix has this lock anywhere on the car for the trunk.

Maybe your remote is disabled with the BCM settings, but regardless the key should work no matter what, unless its anything like my girl friends sisters Hyundai, then yes, there is a button you can flip that makes the pop lever by the drivers seat, and key useless. You have to go in through the back seat, find the button, and flip it by hand while in the trunk.

he has a 1999 Grand Am SE , my car has one of these and this is why i have never tried it on the GTP, if you look on the latch on the trunk lid you should see a yellow tab that you can pull out and it has a lock sign on it, i have always been curious as to what it does but i guess now i know, as how to fix it you may want to call the dealer and ask.as i think he posted it here
