So we're all set now... The TVS has been on 2 different dynos with multiple witnesses, here's a run down of past events in a nutshell.
Mods:
GenV w/ MPS
N*/LQ4
SSAC Headers, no cat
Stock Grand Prix GT catback
Cold air/Open cone intake
XP cam with 105# springs
DHP/wideband tuned by me
I call it a cam-only L32 for short.
This setup made 299whp STD. This number was highly contested as being a sandbag number... It's true I made more uncorrected power in the dead of winter, but the corrected numbers were right around that figure. I don't remember exactly but +/- 5hp. This number was attained with a spot on tune, AFR that was locked in and on point and timing was on the cusp of what it would handle. Bottom line is that it wasn't making any more power, period.
Anyway I swapped the TVS in place of the GenV and immediately found out that I was going to need more fuel. So I upgraded to 42s. Those weren't enough so I did 60s with a racetronix pump. That setup made 350whp on a base street tune and 2.8 pulley, 3rd pull. I wasn't able to dial it in any better as I was off the dyno after 10 minutes.
Once those numbers were released, it seemed like everyone had an issue with it. Either with those numbers, the dyno reading high, me lying about something or whatever. Bottom line is that the GenV did 299 and the TVS did 350 with nothing else of relevance changed.
So now we come to today's results. The TVS setup remains the same (2.8 pulley) except for this run was open down pipe and I was using e60 (tested and confirmed) fuel. It's about 102 octane. Winterblend ethanol, what are you gonna do?
