I have done both open cone and cold air intake, swapped back and forth alot.... when it was all said and done I prefer the cold air intake.

seriously why put a cai on a car that will make heat after it goes thru the supercharger
and it's not like the cai for our cars are real cai
the k&n doesn't even seal it off from the rest of the engine bay like they do on other cars and trucks

    and having done all 3
fwi, cai and open cone, i'll stick w/ the open cone. it looks cleaner in the bay and it doesnt effect iat because when you move anyways our gonna get right at ambient

    Not true.

Even at hig way speeds when i ran open cone was always 15-20* over ambient. always.

IAT should be as close to the intake valve as possible for the most accurate readings.

But if your tune is stock, stock location is best.

I just made a box with a heat shield around it. Does it make a difference? In my head, it does. My IAT's agree, especially when sitting in traffic.

03 GTP...Its got pulleys and stuff.

I just cut off the corrugated part. I had a hard time finding a 45 that would mount to the N*star MAF.

i can justify a box or even a cone filter that goes down towards the fender because i put other things there. i plan on doing the same again. i like running meth.
